Outdoor Escape Game

Behind a curtain of centuries-old oaks, nestled out of sight in the hollow of a magnificent vine-lined valley, lies the ancient Abbey of Fontdouce: formal gardens, a collection of Gothic and Romanesque rooms built there 900 years ago, all forming a haven of peace, far from the tumult and mad rush of today’s world…

But the tranquility inspired by this place has sometimes been disturbed, and tragically so…

In a place cut off from the world

Fontdouce is a valley off the beaten track, appreciated by all for its peace and beauty, and crossed by the stream that gives it its name. In the hollow of this valley, the Abbey of Fontdouce opens its doors to allow you, behind its thick walls, to take time for reflection and to solve enigmas that can sometimes be a little tricky!

An intriguing story

A radiant community, a shining monument, famous people … and disturbing facts and objects.

How is this possible in such a peaceful place? Who could be behind such a situation?

Two scenarios invite you to scour the site to uncover mysterious and inexplicable events!

These two scenarios can be offered to groups of up to 40 people, who then divide up into teams to take part in the competition.

An exceptional discovery

Both scenarios take place in the grounds of Fontdouce Abbey, in the heart of a historic setting where Romanesque art in its most austere expression stands side by side with a magnificent expression of Gothic art, all set in a vast 19th-century farm building. It’s an extraordinary site that takes you on a journey through 900 years of history.
