All-terrain scooters

There’s no better way to discover the area around Fontdouce than on an all-terrain electric scooter, with its undergrowth, valleys, vineyards and heritage of fountains, wash-houses and small hamlets. Quiet and supple, it lets you cross a wide range of natural landscapes with a feeling of floating! There are just a few points to bear in mind: all users must be at least 14 years old, proof of identity is required, a €500 credit card imprint is taken (which is not debited) and the routes are to be downloaded onto your mobile phone (make sure you charge your phone accordingly!).

A wide range of career paths

This is a fairly easy and relatively flat route for a first outing on an electric scooter. It takes you along various paths through the vineyards and through the Borderies area surrounding Fontdouce, one of the prestigious vineyards dedicated to the production of Cognac. It offers some very fine views. Allow around 1 hour for this route.

This is a very hilly and somewhat challenging route, which takes in some beautiful undergrowth and a wide variety of landscapes. It also takes in the various streams that flow into the surrounding valleys. It’s a great way to discover the area on an all-terrain electric scooter, and is slightly sportier than the previous route. Allow between 1? and 2 hours to complete the entire circuit.

This trail takes in the various wash-houses, springs, wells and fountains that make our region so special. From the small vault hidden under the vegetation to the magnificent, perfectly restored wash-house, this route covers a wide range of what is known as ‘small heritage’. There are some great views to be had on an off-road electric scooter, and the route passes through several hamlets. The route takes between 2 and 3 hours to complete, depending on the time spent at each stage. You could also consider stopping for a picnic near a waterhole.

A rich territory

The advantage of all-terrain electric scooters is that they allow anyone to explore the Charente countryside while recharging their batteries in direct contact with nature: vineyards, woods, valleys, streams, springs, wash-houses, wells and the various picturesque little hamlets in our area – a wealth of environmental and heritage resources, sometimes partially hidden from those who pass by a little too quickly, which are revealed as the various routes unfold.

The thrill of nature

Enjoy the breeze that blows across your face, the scents of spring in the countryside, the colours of the vegetation as it awakens or the discreet crackling of branches as animals move through the forest. All this while riding the electric scooters, which, without making the slightest noise, give you the impression of gliding along at ground level. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, this activity is open to all levels and will give you just as many great sensations! So don’t wait any longer and come and connect with nature on our off-road electric scooter trails!

A 100% green activity

What could be better than exploring the Charente region in an environmentally-friendly way? Here at Fontdouce, we’ll help you discover all the magical aspects of nature with our all-terrain electric scooters, without damaging it! You’ll be riding along footpaths, through protected areas and alongside vineyards, on routes that are used by everyone, without damaging any vegetation, and without making any noise that might frighten off wildlife… you’ll be riding very gently!

Frequently asked questions on the activity All-terrain scooters

We’ve put together a list of the most frequently asked questions about our business.  All-terrain scooters

To enjoy one of the all-terrain electric scooter trails at the Fontdouce Adventure Park, all participants must be at least 14 years old.

Yes, at least one member of the group must have a driving licence to hire the scooters.

It all depends on the route you choose for your off-road electric scooter outing. For the Parcours des Vignes, allow around 1 hour. For the Escapade entre Bois et Vallées, allow between 1? and 2 hours, and for the Circuit des 13 Fontaines, allow between 2 and 3 hours.

It couldn’t be easier to take a ride on an electric scooter! You can book online on the Parc Aventure de Fontdouce website, by email or by phone, or come directly to the Parc Aventure de Fontdouce; but it’s best to book in advance. To hire an Electric Scooter, the following points need to be taken into account: users must be at least 14 years old, adults must have Civil Liability insurance, at least one member of the group must have a driving licence, a credit card imprint of 500€ is taken, an identity document must be left at reception, a hire contract is signed before you set off on your ride. Once all this information has been taken into account, all you have to do is download the application, scan the QR code and off you go on your adventure!

The routes offered for all-terrain electric scooters are not signposted on the ground, but all you have to do is download the route onto your phone, which you place on the handlebars of the scooter. There are two apps you can use to do this: either Google Maps (which just shows you the route to follow but doesn’t really guide you), or Komoot (which is a real GPS). You can scan a QR code at the reception desk to load the route of your choice directly.

Helmets are provided. Gloves are not compulsory; you can bring your own or buy them in our snack bar.

The scooters are all restricted and cannot exceed 25km/h.

No, your Civil Liability is sufficient; we have our own insurance.

We have 15 all-terrain electric scooters in Fontdouce. If your group is larger than 15 people, we have partners who can provide additional off-road electric scooters.

An incredible day. We were able to picnic on site, with several tables available. There’s a snack bar in the grounds. A wonderful, peaceful setting in the heart of nature, close to the pretty Fontdouce abbey. We’ll be back without hesitation. And a big thank you to all the team on site, each one more kind than the last! All smiling, attentive and responsive. It was a faultless experience 😊 Well done!

An exceptional site, with a very large car park and shaded spaces. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and friendly. The courses are clean, with some new features compared with others I’ve been on. The site is clean and landscaped to respect nature. I was very pleased with the afternoon.
