Our actions to protect the environment

In a world facing growing environmental challenges, preserving our planet has become an undeniable priority. In response to this reality, numerous initiatives have emerged, aimed at protecting the environment and promoting a more sustainable lifestyle. At Fontdouce Adventure Park, we are aware of this collective responsibility and have taken concrete action to preserve our environment.

Waste reduction

Waste reduction at Fontdouce Adventure Park is beneficial in several ways. First, the efficient waste sorting system and the use of reusable materials directly contribute to reducing the amount of waste produced. This is crucial for reducing the impact on landfills and limiting environmental pollution. By preventing waste from reaching aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, biodiversity is preserved and the health of ecosystems vital for air and water purification and the maintenance of the food chain is supported. This approach also supports a circular economy, encouraging the reuse of resources and reducing the need for new materials to be produced, thereby reducing the park’s overall ecological footprint.

Biodiversity conservation

Biodiversity conservation at Fontdouce Adventure Park brings numerous ecological benefits. At the park, biodiversity protection is enhanced by the use of discreet nets to mark out the trails. This approach minimises soil disturbance, thus preserving the fragile ecosystem of the undergrowth. By reducing human disturbance in these natural habitats, we help to maintain biodiversity, allowing plants to thrive and providing safe havens for wildlife. This simple but effective strategy is important for maintaining biological diversity and for the overall health of our forest environment.

A respectful design

In our park, environmentally friendly design is at the heart of our environmental concerns. Our facilities, particularly the petal platforms, are specially designed to blend in with the natural shape of the trees, thus avoiding damage or restricting their growth. This approach helps to keep the trees healthy, which is important because they filter the air, provide homes for animals and maintain the natural balance of the forest.

Our eco-designed relaxation areas

Eco-designed relaxation areas, such as our snack bar on stilts, are strategically built to minimise environmental impact. By elevating structures above the ground, we avoid damaging the underlying flora, which helps preserve the integrity of our local ecosystem. This construction method not only reduces physical disturbance to the soil, but also promotes greater longevity and diversity of the plants and microorganisms that form the basis of the forest food chain.

Late mowing

Late mowing is beneficial for the park’s wildlife, allowing vegetation to grow longer during the season, which provides more food resources and richer habitats for animals. Delaying mowing also helps preserve the life cycle of plants and insects that depend on them, promoting a more robust and diverse ecosystem. This method contributes to a better ecological balance by supporting the survival and reproduction of local species during critical periods. It also refreshes the soil and improves rainwater storage during periods of severe drought.

Sustainability at the park: Zero plastic!

At the park, our commitment to sustainable development is clearly evident in our choice of materials for everyday consumption. We exclusively use glass cups and plates to avoid the use of plastic or cardboard. This choice eliminates the generation of non-biodegradable waste and reduces our environmental footprint. The use of glass, which is infinitely recyclable, reflects our desire to minimise the impact of our activities on the environment while promoting sustainable practices among our visitors.

At Fontdouce Adventure Park, every measure we take reflects a deep commitment to sustainable development. From rigorous waste management to meticulous protection of our biodiversity, we strive to minimise our ecological impact. These environmentally conscious actions are not only responses to current challenges but also steps towards a future where harmony between man and nature is at the heart of all our activities.
