Once upon a time, deep in the valley of St-Bris-des-Bois, among the hundred-year-old oak trees of the forest, stood the Fontdouce Adventure Park snack bar. Custom-built in 2019 by craftsmen from Charente-Maritime, the Fontdouce snack bar and its suspended terraces are now a landmark for customers who enjoy meeting up there to share a convivial moment in the heart of nature.
An exceptional location
The cabin and its terraces built on stilts welcome young and old alike from noon to 7 p.m. in the summer. After a ride on all-terrain electric scooters, a game of bubble football with friends, outdoor laser tag, archery with the family, or even a treasure hunt, everyone’s hunger pangs will be satisfied !
Our proposals
In our snack bar, you will find delicious savoury or sweet paninis as well as savoury crepes (buckwheat flour) prepared on site: cheese, meat (or not), tomatoes for savoury options, Nutella for sweet options. That’s not all, the snack bar also offers homemade croque-monsieurs for those feeling peckish. We also offer a vegetarian option so that everyone can enjoy their meal while following their preferred diet. When it comes to afternoon tea, there are several choices available: cookies, shortbread biscuits, chocolate bars, compotes and the unmissable pancakes made on site from scratch. What could be more comforting after sport? Plain, sugar, salted butter caramel, Nutella, jam… you choose according to your preferences!
To accompany this, you can treat yourself to one of our drinks. Classic coffees and teas are always available to warm you up and give you energy. Cold drinks are also available, ideal for hot weather. We have made sure to offer you the essentials, including the following brands: Orangina, Fanta lemon and orange, Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero, Ice Tea, Oasis, Schweppes, CapriSun, Minute Maid apple and orange. The range has been put together so that there is something for everyone!
FOCUS ON OUR LOCAL PRODUCTS
For those little hunger pangs that need satisfying in an eco-friendly way, with both organic and local products, we are proud to offer Jean et Lisette products. These organic shortbread biscuits come directly from St-Jean-d’Angély, about 25 km from Fontdouce Adventure Park, and will delight the taste buds of young and old alike.
The snack bar also offers delicious Meneau fruit juices and iced teas. Organic, fair trade and locally sourced, they are a real treat after a busy day. They allow you to discover original flavours such as Clementine, Strawberry-Raspberry, Citron-Ginger and Organic Pomegranate, which are available as fruit juices or green teas. The perfect way to refresh yourself with local products from the south-west.
EVERYTHING COMES IN THREES… TERRACES
As you may have guessed, our snack bar is surrounded by three large terraces. Designed by two local carpenters, André Fouchet and Laurent Rousteau, they were built on stilts so as not to disturb the ground. Positioned slightly above ground level, they offer a truly relaxing experience in the heart of the forest and its treetop adventure courses. Whether for a meal, a snack or a reading break, the terraces always welcome you in comfort, just like in your own living room. These terraces have been furnished with furniture from the social integration enterprise Renovpal. Based in Pouzauges in the Vendée region, this company manufactures furniture from pallet wood while offering a pathway to professional integration. It is strongly committed to social responsibility: professional integration of people facing socio-professional difficulties, French manufacturing, recycling of wood and pallets (particularly pallets from the Fleury Michon company).
And thanks to this furniture, small lounges are available in the woods, featuring armchairs and sofas as well as coffee tables, creating a cosy atmosphere where you can relax to the sound of birdsong in what we call the ‘Nature Lounge’. Colourful cushions complement the furniture, allowing you to settle in comfortably and relax peacefully. Wi-Fi is available, so everyone can work remotely while the younger ones have fun!
WHAT ABOUT GROUPS?
The terraces are also ideal for hosting groups. Their square shape promotes a convivial atmosphere, perfect for sharing a pleasant moment together.
Delighting the youngest guests at a birthday party
For example, do you need to find a new idea for your child’s birthday? We offer children’s birthday parties in the great outdoors, featuring activities such as tree climbing, outdoor laser tag and digital rallies, which are ideal for children aged 3 to 18. A decorated terrace will be reserved to celebrate your child’s birthday. Fruit juice, soft drinks and a birthday cake will be provided so you can celebrate this special event outdoors with all your friends.
The ideal venue for your team-building days
For businesses, it is also possible to organise an unusual seminar in our nature lounge. Nearly sixty people can have lunch together in this unique and peaceful space. Several options are available. From cheese and charcuterie boards to sweet treats, the choice is yours! We work with a local butcher, Mr Arnaud, who offers homemade preparations and quality products. Everything is in place for a wonderful moment of sharing and happiness. You can, of course, combine your meal with activities at the Adventure Park. The Team Building activity The Totem Odyssey to continue the adventure in the heart of nature; a game of outdoor laser tag for guaranteed fun with the group; or even rides on all-terrain electric scooters to discover the Charente Maritime from the inside in a new way.
