Which route should you take to come and experience the attractions of Fontdouce from Poitiers?

To do this, the least time-consuming route is to take the A10 motorway from Poitiers towards Saintes and Bordeaux. Then take exit 34 at St Jean d’Angély towards Cognac, and continue towards Cognac, turning left at St Hilaire de Villefranche. The route takes you to Brizambourg, where you should turn right in the middle of the village towards St Bris des Bois. Continue straight ahead and, at St Bris des Bois, turn left towards Burie. After about 3 km, you will see the sign for the Fontdouce Adventure Park on your left. Follow the direction indicated by the sign and take the small country road on the left. After 200 metres, you will arrive at the car park of Fontdouce Abbey on your right. This route from Poitiers takes about 1½ hours.

The ancient Roman road linked Limonum (Poitiers) to Mediolanum Santonum (Saintes), running almost in a straight line between Poitiers and Saintes. You can join this road by leaving Poitiers via the RN10 towards Angoulême and taking the D611 after Fontaine Le Comte, towards Lusignan. This straight road takes you through Melle, Aulnay and Varaize, then you come to a junction with the D731 (the road linking Niort to Cognac); turn left towards Brizambourg, drive for about 2 km and in the centre of Brizambourg, turn right towards St Bris des Bois. Continue along this local road and once you reach St Bris des Bois, turn left towards Burie. After 3 km, you will see the sign for the Fontdouce Adventure Park on your left. Take the small road indicated by the sign, continue for 200 metres and you will arrive at the Fontdouce car park on your right. This journey from Poitiers takes around 1 hour 50 minutes.

How to reach the reception area of the Fontdouce Adventure Park from the car park:

Once parked, head to the Fontdouce Adventure Park reception area located on the opposite side of the valley by walking down from the car park towards the buildings of the former Fontdouce Abbey located below the car park, then turn left to cross the road you arrived on. Then walk back up the opposite side and you will see the reception area on the hillside just before the tree-top adventure park. All that remains is for you to choose your attractions.
