An adventure park in a unique, rejuvenating setting
Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, hidden behind a curtain of centuries-old oak trees and nestled in a peaceful valley bordered by vineyards, Fontdouce’s natural spaces are much appreciated for their calm and authenticity. Fontdouce is the perfect place to stay for a whole day, for an experience of total disconnection.
Fontdouce also boasts a medieval heritage that adjoins the Parc Aventure: an ancient abbey, founded in the 12th century and restored over the last 50 years, in which several reception and seminar rooms have been fitted out, and which can be explored thanks to the tours, treasure hunts and escape games on offer.
Fontdouce has a wealth of heritage and environmental treasures to discover!

The history of
Fontdouce Adventure Park
The first small-scale accrobranche park
In April 2013, more than 10 years ago, the first accrobranche courses at Fontdouce opened in an area left fallow since the 1999 storm, located to the west of Fontdouce Abbey. At the outset, the park had just 5 accrobranche courses (1 for children and 4 for adults) and a giant 200m zip line.
Progressive development
A few years later, in response to the public’s enthusiasm for this extraordinary site, new activities were launched, enabling everyone to enjoy a moment of pleasure with family or friends:

Spaces to
relax
In addition to the various activities offered, Fontdouce Adventure Park also features a collection of relaxation areas along the valley, allowing everyone to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Among these areas, discover our Nature Lounge, a series of cozy lounges nestled on terraces suspended in the heart of the forest. This unique spot in Charente-Maritime delights all our visitors. Beautiful hiking trails also surround Fontdouce, providing the perfect opportunity to disconnect.
Fontdouce,
over 900 years of history!
A first building dating from the 12th century
Fontdouce was originally a monastery built by Benedictine monks in 1111 in this valley away from the rest of society. During the French Revolution, the monks were expelled and the State became the owner of the property, which was then sold to the family of the current owners, who developed an agricultural activity.
Gradually opening up to tourism
From 1970 onwards, the agricultural activity gradually gave way to a cultural activity with guided tours and a few events. To diversify the site’s tourist offer, the owners set up fun activities for families, as well as special seasonal events. At the same time, the site is gradually being restored, and rooms are being opened to the public, enabling us from 2010 to organize events such as weddings and seminars. In 2013, the construction of the Adventure Park brings a new touch of freshness with its playful and sporting activities, and gradually expands the site’s overall offering. Since then, Fontdouce has enjoyed a blossoming trend in terms of tourist numbers, as well as private and professional events.
