At the Fontdouce Adventure Park, respect of the environment is a constant concern and through this page we would like to show you how running an adventure park can rhyme with respect for the surrounding ecosystem. Zoom on our good gestures for fauna and flora !
Petal plateforms
These so-called petal platforms, due to their arrangement, have the particularity of being able to follow the shape of the tree without damaging it. They do not enclose the tree but are secured with the help of straps. Thus, they neither suffocate nor deteriorate the latter.
The nests
These nets have been installed throughout the tree climbing park to delimit the paths and thus avoid as much as possible the trampling of flora and fauna in the undergrowth. Indeed, trampling kills the undergrowth and can even threaten trees. Then, we allow people to move around the whole park while preserving the surrounding nature.
The Nature Lounge on stilts
Also in this process of preserving biodiversity, the snack bar and terraces created in 2019 were built on stilts; Another way to reduce the impact on the undergrowth. The trees there were not cut down. It was the architects and the carpenters who had to adapt.
The selected sorting
This action is nothing out of the ordinary, but pretty essential ! Too many people still overlook selective sorting. Throughout the park (parking, reception, woods, valley and near the picnic areas) several sorting bins have been installed, with a description so that you can dispose of your waste without difficulty.
Late mowing areas
Since this year 2020, we have decided not to mow all the green spaces in the valley but to leave two large plots (of around 1,500 m² each) in an area for preserving biodiversity through late mowing. These spaces are thus areas of refuge in spring for birds, small animals and for pollinating insects. It is only during the winter period, the period of hibernation that these spaces are mown.
