What is the route to get to Fontdouce Tree Climbing Park from Royan?
To leave Royan and come to Fontdouce Adventure Park for your tree climbing outing, the easiest route when traffic is not too heavy is to head towards Saintes, via Médis and Saujon. Take the N150, and when you reach Saintes, follow signs for Cognac and Angoulême. Avoid Saintes by taking the ring road, then exit the ring road and follow signs for Cognac and Angoulême. Once on the road to Cognac and Angoulême, head towards La Chapelle des Pots, which you will pass on your way to Burie and St Bris des Bois. You will also pass through St Bris des Bois, still heading towards Burie, and continue for 3 km before seeing the sign for the Fontdouce Adventure Park on your left. Take the road indicated on the left, following the sign, and after 200 m you will arrive at the Fontdouce Adventure Park car park on your right.
From July to August, traffic in Royan can sometimes be difficult. Secondary routes are preferable for leaving Royan if you want to avoid traffic jams. The best route is to leave Royan via St Georges de Didonne, then Semussac, Corme Ecluse, and join the N150 at St Romain de Benet, heading towards Saintes. Then follow the directions described above to continue from Saintes.

Leave your car in the parking lot above the Fontdouce Abbey buildings and continue on foot to the Fontdouce Adventure Park reception area. After parking, continue on foot, heading to the left of the Fontdouce Abbey buildings, then turn left to cross Rue du Vivier and walk up towards the cabin on the hillside: this is the reception area for Fontdouce Adventure Park!
